How to Renew Media Online

You can renew the loan period of the books or media you are borrowing at the earliest 10 days prior to expiry via your user account in the Online Catalogue.

Please choose the branch where you borrow books and other media:

 

Start the Catalogue and call up your user account by clicking on the menu item "Account". To do this, enter your user number (on the reverse side of your library card / student card) and your password. You can now view your user account, which displays the items you are currently borrowing, your reservations and fees. By clicking on the respective media, you can renew your loan periods. By clicking on "Renewal of Account", you can renew all loan periods. If you renew the loan period of movies, you will be charged additional loan fees.

Online renewal does not work if

  • a title has been reserved;
  • the maximum number of possible renewals (=2) has been attained (After two renewals the book/medium has to be presented to the Library for re-borrowing.);
  • your library account has been blocked.

Possible reasons for blocking your library account include:

  • External students are blocked at the beginning of each new semester, i.e. the current student identity card must be submitted.
  • There are outstanding fees.
  • A book that has been reserved has not been returned.
  • You have notified us of the theft or loss of your library card.
